ShockTape can be applied to all types of baseball bats. Its high tech Sorbothane polymer material is capable of absorbing up to 94.7% of ball strike shock. This results in minimal bat sting especially during cold weather games and practice. Coaches strongly recommend applying ShockTape to practice bats as it significantly increases the time that a player can train at full strength before hand fatigue sets in.

Rule 1.10(c) of the Major League Baseball Rulebook states, grip-enhancing tape it is not allowed more than 18 inches up from the bottom handle. The thickness of the tape later is not regulated, except that it’s total thickness cannot exceed that of the knob end of the bat.

Most baseball players desire a firm or sticky grip on their bat. ShockTape when used without an overwrap offers a very tacky surface that many players find desirable. However, deterioration of the tape due to friction and UV is accelerated without a covering. For the longest life we recommend using a thin overwrap of the batter’s choice. Pine tar or other grip enhancers can be applied over the final grip material.

Installation Instructions:

Installation is easy and takes just a few minutes.

1. Remove the old grip tape and clean grip surfaces. Remove as much adhesive and tar residue as possible. Rubbing alcohol works well for this.

2. Starting with the tapered end of the tape, wrap the handle while gradually removing the adhesive backing. Some tension can be applied to the tape during wrapping, but over stretching can cause the tape to tear.

3. Cut the end of the tape to finish the grip.

4. Recommended: Apply an overwrap tape such as cloth, leather or synthetic leather to prolong the life of ShockTape.

5. Now you're ready to play ball!
